Exploring new water #378

With crazy spring weather plaguing the 2013/2014 opening season I went in search of clear running rivers. A river 50ish km from home was chosen but a localised overnight dump of over 50mm of rain had it running high and highly coloured. Regardless I thought I'd have a look at access options as I was yet to walk or fish this river. Below are a few pics...

The walking track follows old mining tracks with numerous tunnels

A few old mining relics are spotted around the place

This is the current footbridge. At one point there was railway bridge over the river however in 1934 it collapsed when overloaded coal trucks were passing over it
