A half gravel and half tarmac road making its way through open farmland, sections of native bush and comes out at Catlins Lake. An interesting alternative to the Papatowai Highway when linked up with Puaho Road.

Unscheduled rain can appear and come down with force, rivers can then rise to impassable levels within minutes. Snow is often a regular occurrence in winter time and can also occur in any season
